Plenty Austin works with economically disenfranchised communities helping them to establish sustainable nutrition, employment and education programs. Plenty Austin (DBA) is a direct affiliate of Plenty International.

A Brief HistoryPlenty Austin was started in 1995 by individuals from Austin and Dripping Springs, Texas who wanted to support the efforts of economically disenfranchised peoples, and in particular indigenous communities, in addressing housing, health care, food security, education and other basic needs. Plenty Austin volunteers and staff have a long history of working with local human rights and service organizations including Casa Marianella, South Texas Aid to Refugees, Austin Center for Peace and Justice, and the Austin Resource Center for Independent Living. Some Plenty Austin representatives also serve as members or advisors on the board of directors for Plenty International. Austin area volunteers give their time and donate financial and other material resources in support of Plenty Austin programs abroad. Other non-profit and grass roots organizations implement a variety of community development programs in support of Plenty Austin’s work abroad.
